Spotlight Overview

  • Spotlight is located on tl-az-it-mon01

    • Connect via RDP or Desktops in Citrix

    • Use admin account.

  • Blue = informational: Service set to automatic, but not running, for example.

    • Click on a colored block:

 

    • Click on Processes box and diagnose: Services>Right click to Start Service. Sometimes Services will attempt restart 3 times but already create a ticket, ex. Greenshades, so you may find the service started:

 

 

  • For Blocked Process: go to Processes on the Server Overview page> Under Processes> choose Blocked and click Show me

    • Top level of tree is process, the rest are impacted

      • Don’t kill the process, but you can identify and send to Scott or Zach to kill. TempdB tickets can be closed without action.

  • Restarting a Service:

    • Click on Windows Server and Processes at the top: 

    • then Services:

 

    • Right click to Stop and/or Start:

 

  • Clear Alerts under Sessions>Status

    • Highlight All and acknowledge (if alert comes back = active alert):

 

  • Some alerts like server reboot from updates have to be manually cleared.

  • For Yellow Disk Full alerts, use TreeSize application (C:\TreeSize):
