If you haven’t already set up multi-factor authentication for your PowerBI account, you will notice a challenge to set up an authentication method when you login to the TL-BI Portal. You can choose one of two methods: authenticator application or phone. The preferred method is the phone since you’ll just get a text message or call to your phone to authenticate. If you choose the authenticator application method, you’ll need to download and install a mobile authenticator.
To set up multi-factor authentication just click the “Next” button at the challenge or go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and sign in with your work email and PowerBI password.
Once you hit “Next” you’ll have two methods to choose from. If you don’t want to use the authenticator you can choose “I want to set up a different method” at the bottom of the prompt.
If you choose phone, you can choose text me or call me for authentication. Once you choose your method, you’ll be prompted to use it going forward. You can change your method at any time by visiting https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
