Gmail - Filtering Emails to Specific Folders

You can set up almost anything to go into a separate folder using filters, which can be by sender, subject, or whatever. The easiest way to do so is to use an applicable message to create the filter:

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. Check the checkbox next to the email you want.
  3. Click More More.
  4. Click Filter messages like these.

  5. Enter your filter criteria. You can use the subject or sender or phrase from the message.
  6. Click Create filter.
  7. To get them to go in a new folder, click Apply the label and select a label or create one. If you want it to just go into that folder and no longer be in your inbox, also select "Skip the inbox"

  8. Click Create filter.
